Review on DBmarlin by Jon Garcia

I like that it allows me access from anywhere, even if my computer is not connected directly with our network or server! It also lets us track things in real time which helps find issues quicker than without this tool installed (especially when working remotely). The fact we don't have an option for remote desktop control means sometimes there are times where its hard/impossible ot see what's going wrong right away at certain points during troubleshooting sessions - but thats pretty minor as far as i'm concerned since once everything has been checked out through logging etc then all should be good :) We've used dbMarline primarily while trying resolve slowdowns / slowness occurring within one particular application as well whilst attempting resolving intermittent errors relating to said applications functionality over several days across multiple servers. The way it shows how much time is spent in each query or stored procedure. It also gives us options to search for specific tables (with its own set of criteria).It is not easy to use but once you know what you are looking at, then it becomes easier. I haven't found anything that I dislike yet. I would recommend this software to any DBA. We are able to find out which queries are taking most time and which ones should be optimized. It helps us with our job.
