I bought this for my horse whose legs were swollen for no apparent reason (it turned out to be an allergy). I was a cold hose and that complemented this treatment. I've found this works better for my horse than a cold water bandage and a wet leg. However, I found an alternative use for it that I was very happy with. Unfortunately, while I was treating my horse, I got in the way of another horse that they were selling. I was knocked down and my leg suffered an ugly laceration and bruise from the middle of the foot to the knee. While soaking my horse's leg I decided on a whim to wrap it around my leg and it was quite simply the best ice treatment ever! No ice packs and unsuccessful attempts to keep him in place with top-notch bandages. This thing with strong velcro straps stayed where I put it. I could freeze my leg and walk at the same time. I will never be without one of these ice boots in the freezer, ready to treat my horse or myself.
