The Perfect Solution

Our traditional screen door has been sitting in the garage for ages, I was tasked with re-hanging it but realized that the door's swing would interfere with how we were currently using our back porch (and would complicate our cat's access to the backyard.) This magnetic screen door served up the perfect solution. It took a week or so, but the cat has successfully figured out how to push the screen open with his head. I've found this a great way to approach passing thru the screen myself, especially if my hands are full. It took the cat a minute to realize that the opening was in the middle instead of at the opening edge of the door like before, and it is slightly annoying to unlock the door thru the screen now that it needs to be moved aside to access the knob, but we're all used to it now (a month or so after installation.)You'll need scissors to cut the velcro - which I'd say is a tool, and maybe contradicts the packaging's advertisement of 'no tools needed' - but this was no problem. I'll be curious to see how well the velcro's adhesion to the doorframe holds up after a Chicago winter, but so far, so good.
