Review on ☕ Secura Electric Burr Coffee Grinder Mill: Adjustable Cup Size, 17 Grind Size Settings for Drip, Percolator, French Press, Turkish Coffee Makers - Black by Jose Haskin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No grind adjustment

I thought this grinder would be a smart buy based on general reviews and online comparisons, but I couldn't get a decent grind on any of the grind settings. The manual also incorrectly states that the lowest number setting gives the finest grind, but this is the opposite of what the setting actually does. On the zero setting, the grind size was slightly larger, but all other settings gave a fine grind or powder consistency. There's a reason this coffee grinder is almost half the price. You get what you pay for. I also didn't like the container that catches the grist. It has a lid with a small hole that catches the grist from the grinder through a small hole. The burr opening fills up and must be cleaned after each use to prevent it from becoming completely clogged with ground coffee. It might not have been so bad with a bigger bed, but since I couldn't get a bigger eel out of a mill, it was impossible to tell. The grinding container is made of thin plastic and can break if the pressure is too high. I have found that this grinder uses flat ceramic burrs which are not as desirable as the conical metal burrs used in the best machines. Sent this grinder back to Revain and ordered the Baratza Encore which is more expensive but much better. In addition, the Baratza can be adjusted or calibrated by the user and parts can be ordered from Baratza in the future if needed.
