Goes easy, seals the gap.

I put this on a 2018 F-150. About 8 inches remain. The online instructions were very good with pictures of where to put it. My bed pad is Weathertech, very flat/thin. Tailgate to glue. Which reminded me that adhesion isn't everything you think it should be. The tape will literally peel the paint off your truck. This material is not as sticky as this one. I was able to pull it back in a few spots to fix bugs, even after pressing the spot very hard. There are a couple of spots on the Ford where the trim doesn't completely close the gap. At these points, the instructions show that you place the strip on the side of the bed, convex side in, and then place the piece the length of which is specified in the instructions on the other side of the tailgate. The two bulbs fit together perfectly. I'll have to wait and see how the parts hold up on the tailgate, it amazes me every time I lug something in there, installing the tailgate parts. Just take a look. The instructions state that the bottom section should be flush with the bottom of the bed. When you do this, the stick is halfway up and halfway down where the floor curves over the trim (the space between the tailgate and the bed). I lined it up so the stick was flush with the bottom of the bed, completely on the lining. It landed about 3/8 inch below the ground. The closure seems to seal well and hopefully it will hold up better than between two pieces. Closing the tailgate is a bit more difficult and requires a determined effort, which is to be expected. will match the form for a while after closing. Useful tools were a pair of sturdy and sharp scissors, a silver marker, and a tape measure or ruler. The suggested measurements are very close, but on one occasion I cut two pieces of 2.75" and then eventually took them off and made a 3.5". Measure twice, cut once!
