Change as easy as wipers
I've been using a rubber tipped cane for about a year when someone told me I could buy one and easily replace it myself. The mechanic wanted about $125 to get it done. Somehow I watched a few videos on the Internet on how to change them. It turned out that to remove the old one, it is enough to pry the latch with a very small flat screwdriver and just press on the new ones. They work better than the originals because now I lift the trunk lid slightly and it opens by itself like an automatic roll up door!
