I've read many previous reviews about the strong foliar odor and they were right. It was very strong and chemical but went away after I separated/soaked them in the tub. Another thing to note is the amount of paint that has come off the leaves (the tendrils were dark green when they arrived). Please wash them thoroughly when you receive them even if they don't have the same smell. Also they do the job and I love them, some of the leaves fall off when touched but if left alone they are fine.
