Review on OPT7 Aura Interior Car Lights LED Strip Kit-16+ Smart-Color, Soundsync, Door Assist, Show Patterns, And Remote-Accent Underdash Footwell Floor, 6Pc Single Row by Pat Haberman

TOYOTA RAV4 2017I chose to purchase this kit as I've had bad experiences with cheap LED strips and I wanted to find a more permanent, durable LED lighting kit that would turn on once I turned the ignition to my car. Once i found this kit (and looked up what a fuse box was relative to a vehicle) I decided to go for it and figure out how to put it all together! Spoiler: It was straight-forward, took me 5 hrs, but it was worth it!To preface, I am an average female who has little experience with cars but anytime something needs a relatively simple fix in my house (microwave, sink, toilet, car roof rack, TV mount, AC, wiring speakers, etc.) I eventually figure it out in 1/4th the speed of a pro lol. Although I know there are TONS of capable ladies out there, I am always hard pressed to find these savvy, capable women sharing their experiences when it comes to tasks that are considered "typically" a guys jobs. Plus some of these reviews come from experienced people who leave out important details for newbies like me.Install:I've attached four photos with different text colors and I will explain what is going on within each photo.Green:For the Toyota Rav4 2017 models, the fuse box is located under the driver footwell and it is covered by this off-white rectangle cap. You DO NOT need to remove the plastic flap right below the buttons that adjust the sideview mirrors, the fuses are directly below it and you can access them if you turn your head up and somehow end up in a very uncomfortable and headache-inducing position. I chose to put the LED's fuse in section #15 labeled WIP RR for the rear window wipers. You can find the fuses listed on if you google the exact car model as I am not able to list the website. This fuse only allows the strips to turn one once you turn the car key two clicks to the right or completely start your vehicle. Other fuses allow the LED strips to stay on 24/7 unless you manually turn them off with the remote. Also, there is a slot for the #15 fuse to attach to the LED fuse so everything in the car still works fine.Blue:In the blue text photo I showed the optimal placement for the LED strips in the driver footwell where they are not visible to the driver or any passengers when seated upright. I also found that the zip ties with the little plastic square holders they come with are sufficient enough to hold the wire on place. No 3M tape was used and I only needed 2 zip ties.Yellow:In this photo i show the optimal placement for the control box under the driver footwell. As you can see, the LED strip from the blue photo is partly visible in the yellow photo. I attached the control box with two zip ties and electrical tape. I tucked the wiring from the fuse box under the carpeting behind the brakes and made sure no wires would get tangled with the pedals. I also attached the ground to a visible bolt that didn't have any paint on it behind the gas pedal. Finally, I tucked the four LED wires behind the right (R) plastic panel. If you want to keep your wires hidden, I recommend you tuck your passenger and rear extension wires under this large panel all the way around the middle island/gear shifter separating the driver and passenger seats.Red:This photo is from the passenger side of the Toyota Rav4 2017. The red circle shows the extension wire peaking out of the left plastic panel that wraps around the middle island/gear shifter separating the driver and passenger seats. Since the passenger side didn't have any holes for zip ties to loop through, i just resorted to using the 3M tape provided behind the LED strips and they worked like a charm.For the rear seats, I tucked the extension wires under the rubber mats I have covering the floor carpets, I decided to attach the strips under the passenger seats as they are higher off the ground than the space under the driver/passenger seats, providing the LED strips with more room to shine. I attached the strips with zip ties on metal wires under the rear seats.Overall everything worked out well! Thanks for reading! - Z
