I try not to write positive reviews until I come across what I think is an excellent product. and it's one of those extremely well designed and very well made products that are worthy of being used as a staple in my kitchen or yours. The inside of the bowl is very smooth, so food should slide out easily on this slippery surface. I'm pretty sure this CANNOT be used to rinse, wash or sift certain types of raw grain or fine rice as they can get stuck in or through the holes. But it should catch and strain most types of cooked grains and rice that increase in size from "boiling in water," and it fits nicely in my 14" x 15" double sink on each side. A tip might be to order this as the only item for delivery so it comes in its own box and doesn't risk being pushed in by another item.
