I'm a metal worker working in downtown Chicago skyscrapers where the exterior walls of most buildings are exposed to daylight. So I was surprised at how wide the laser line can be seen, and narrow even without the reflective plate. At about 80 feet, the line was about 3/8 inch thick. I checked how smooth it is and how it falls within the range stated in the specs. The Laser feels and looks like a decent build. The only thing I don't like is the magnetic holder. It's a toy. Buy four (4) 16lb real earth magnets and a 1/4-20 bolt and nut and make your own if you don't want to lift the laser scrap off the ground after using the utility mount for the first time. Something else about my work. In addition to quality, speed is also important for a decent working day, so it would be better to use an internal pendulum stabilizer. But at such a price for the device, that's not bad. The red plumb points are useful for marking hangers and grabs. This laser is very good value for money and I would recommend it unless you need a name and pay double or triple. Update: July -2019 After a few months of use I have to change the star rating. In summer, partly outdoors, the vertical line is visible only 3 meters, no more (depending on the surface), so basically useless.
