California King is the perfect size for a queen bed. There is plenty of extra hanging material on the sides. Beautiful colors. Good quality but time will tell. It's not too heavy and I would put a comforter underneath and remove the comforter while you sleep so it lasts longer. Blankets aren't for me to sleep on anyway, but you could. Goes well with a variety of decor and I'm very picky about decorating as your bedroom should be your sanctuary. It's not "girly" without flourishes or colors. Being chronically ill, I spend a lot of time in my bedroom and extra pillows add extra comfort. It's pretty, but works well for women too. I love the browns and reds throughout the house. It's too big for the washing machine and I would recommend taking it to the dry cleaner to keep the colors from fading. Nicely packaged for shipping.
