Review on Thule Easy Passenger Vehicle Chains by Brad Lovro

Purchased for Prius use, install and disassemble as described. The chains work well on paved roads with packed snow or ice. Although the chains are firmly attached to the surface of the tire, the sliding mechanism comes loose, hitting the wheels, making a lot of noise and causing the paint to peel off the wheels. After installation I styrofoam the back of the mechanism to reduce noise. This adds some time/inconvenience to installation, which I paid 5x the cost of traditional chains for convenience. The manufacturer should have a device that comes in the back to absorb the noise/fix the gear to the wheel/tire combos where it happens.
