I used this light to replace the bare bulb main light that the owner installed in our kitchen and I can't believe I did waited so long for it. So. I've installed more complex jigs in the past, so I have a bit of knowledge, but I'm by no means a pro. I think this may have been one of the easiest and quickest installs I've ever done. The instructions were clear and correct enough that I think anyone could install one of these units with just a little knowledge of basic electrical procedures. 2700k option but I still think 3000k light is good for kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. I wouldn't use a light temperature of 5000K for anything other than a utility room or garage as this tends to wash out colours. *UPDATE* After installing and using for less than two months, the lamp failed. It looks like the control board has overheated and shorted out, that's toast. We didn't leave it on all day, it wasn't wet and as far as I can tell there weren't any power surges. There is no external reason why it should have failed. I've changed my original 5 star rating to a 2 star because it failed, but I assume I ended up with a rare malfunctioning device by accident. Also, it worked very well before the catastrophic failure.
