For a long time I wanted to buy something extra wide-angle for shooting landscapes and architecture. I considered different options, initially I wanted to take Tamron 10-24, but then I found out about Tokina, and having studied the advantages, the choice fell on her. The lens is quite expensive, but believe me it's worth it! Of its main advantages, first of all, it is a constant aperture of f / 2.8 at all focal ranges. And most importantly, the lens is sharp immediately at this aperture, even in the corners of the frame! The peak of sharpness is reached already at f / 4-f / 5.6, here the corners of the frame are finally pulled up. Vignetting is quite strong, but if you shoot in RAW, it is easily corrected in the converter. Chromatic aberrations are present but they are not catastrophic and are also easily removed. There are no complaints about the color rendition - the enlightenment is of high quality, the colors are natural, no shifting into any particular shade was noticed. The lens is assembled perfectly, no backlash, high-quality plastic and metal. The zoom ring is quite tight, even in mild cold it becomes even tighter, maybe I came across such a specimen. Assembled in Japan. Due to unification with other mounts, when switching to manual focus, you must first set the MF on the camera and then move the focus ring to the MF position on the lens itself. Autofocus on my camera (A77) sometimes misses, apparently due to the peculiarities of working with such a wide and light glass. By the way, the camera "sees" this lens as Sony / Minolta 20F2.8, so when using it, turn off all the auto-correction items in the camera - they will be applied to the wrong lens! The front lens is large so be prepared to shell out for expensive filters. It lacks at least some kind of cover, but this is not really a problem. In general, I am satisfied with the lens, for those who need an uncompromising super-wide for crop, I safely recommend it for purchase.
