I rarely write reviews but I had to comment on this product. We live in Florida and our property borders a huge tick sanctuary that is home to lynx, foxes, squirrels and so on. We have 4 small dogs that don't spend much time outside and have never had a problem with ticks. until this year. I hate using chemicals on my dogs and am wary of internal pest control. We used the Cedarcide spray which was a good deterrent but not completely effective. We have worked the lawn several times. We still found a tick or two a day. This product has been around for years and out of 900 odd reviews the only negative ones were related to extreme circumstances (dogs outdoors in densely wooded areas). I saw very few reviews of side effects and decided I can always remove the collar. I am happy to report that these collars work! There are no side effects yet. My two older dogs (11 and 12 years old) have no problems. It does not smell, it is very easy to apply and no extra effort is required after application. Remember to cut off the extra collar so your dog gets the right dose. Lose weight while swimming. If you are looking for a tick repellent that is relatively safe (compared to the risk of Lyme and Ehrlichia), I would recommend this product.
