The box works well and the tray pulls out easily for cleaning. Our cat doesn't like going through the door, so she just uses the top opening to get in and out. She still picks up some junk when she jumps down, but that's a lot less than when she uses a traditional crate (and that might be one of the types of junk we use). It was easy to put together and although the actual measurements are slightly smaller than the description says, it fits our 10lb cat perfectly. Much better than the normal open box.
