Bought to give some life to an old 2006-7 Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop that was remastered with a Linux build. The main function of an old laptop is an educational platform for my kids. The system is based on 32-bit/x86 architecture and is therefore limited to 4 GB of RAM. It worked out of the box. There are no problems with recognition. Fully functional. The system physically registers 3.7GB out of 4GB, so the design and integration of the chip was good. The system will never be a speed demon, but it's added oomph to extend its lifespan and allow a few more educational elements to be added to the laptop before its lifecycle is over.
