Review on Enhance Your Audio Experience with ASUS Xonar U5 Sound Card by Ojasvi Uppal ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied, the product fully corresponds to the description.

If you want a portable device with better sound quality than the built-in one and do not want to hear extraneous high-frequency and low-frequency interference, then take it, you will not regret it. I use it without installed drivers from the official site. It works great when connected to a computer. Windows 10 immediately detects it correctly. As for ASIO, I can say that the sound seems to become a little more crystal clear and the panorama and spatiality open up a little, but you lose the simultaneous playback of music, for example, on the same AIMP or VLC player and at the same time watching videos on youtube. Either one or the other. Not at the same time.

Pros
  • Good card. The sound is loud enough, but it may seem a little to someone, as it happens that the track is recorded quietly and it will not work to unscrew it louder. At the maximum volume level, there is no distortion in the sound. When NOT playing something, no extraneous noise (hissing or whistling) is heard.
Cons
  • A huge drawback is the useless microphone connection. I tried to connect a buttonhole and it's worse than on the cheapest built-in on the motherboard of a computer with a 775 socket for a processor. Very quiet microphone sound, a lot of interference, possibly due to the lack of grounding on the 220 volt line, although I'm not sure, since I'm not special in this. In general, do not even hope to extract something from the microphone connection. This is blood from the ears, and for audiophiles, this is spiritual death.
