Excellent quality wood for carving!
I am a beginner carpenter and am trying my hand at carving and planing. I ordered some tools from BeaverCraft and they were great so I decided to give them my business when they had a promotion on these blocks. Two nights ago I sat down with two British-Colombian knives and a block of wood, and using my imagination alone I was able to carve the shape of a face out of the block of wood. It offered some resistance and I never felt like it would break or the knife slip. This is a great item, I would recommend it and even more would recommend your shredder.
