I bought this because I have four kids (and one with a friend as a bonus) who are on the run all the time. He does what he says: sandwiches, waffles and grilled or panini. The plates are easy to change. Easy to clean. It preheats fairly quickly, taking an average of 5 minutes to cook anything. Make sure to butter the bread before toasting (or mayonnaise or a combination of both. Mmmm) or lightly butter the plates if using puff pastry as it can stick to even non-stick plates. Do not fill the waffle plates completely with batter as it will spill out and make cleaning the back wall cumbersome. This is not a "miracle machine", you must use common sense when preparing food. My only complaint is the lack of temperature control or a timer. Plug it in and it's on, it's off when you're done. But I knew that when I bought it.
