Fiction! My 2009 Ford Flex 3.5L shifting problems have been fixed! WOW!

Fantastic! My 2009 Ford Flex 3.5L shifting problems have been fixed! IMPRESSIVE! I replaced the intake and exhaust sensors with NTK sensors, installed the Sonnax Zip Kit valve body, cleaned the valve body and magnets and filled them with synthetic gear oil. I could have done anything while I was there! After driving it 231,000 miles I realized it was on its last legs. I realized that buying a used transmission is too risky and may need to be reprogrammed. Shipping to a gear shop could cost me $1,000-$2,000! I would at least change the transmission oil and see how it looks in there and it might have cost $250 for parts. The gearbox was very clean inside so I think the clutch material could be really good. You can't filter for them, so don't buy both. They need a solenoid filter plate as they say it will leak if not replaced and I got a new pan gasket. After a lot of time, patience, brake cleaner and skin from knuckles, it was all disassembled and put back together! The first test drive was great! As if it were brand new! Did everything I expected: shifted up and down without slipping and glare! Now that's not a corvette with a built-in gearbox. but it shifts without worrying about it shifting, slipping, blinking, bumping and/or breaking! I didn't replace the range sensor as I couldn't get the pin that holds it in place. I decided to give up before I broke the distance sensor that was there! (and it seems to have worked) Good luck everyone!

Pros
  • NTK Speed Sensors are direct OE replacements and offer longer component life with thicker wire insulation and sealed connectors on all speed sensors.
Cons
  • Not fashionable
