I had low expectations after reading all the negative reviews. My first application was tightening 480 ft-lbs truck nuts. I used a proto torque multiplier at the same time as another 1/2" drive torque wrench. At first it seemed like the performance key was pulling torque. To be sure, I tested it on a freshly calibrated Snap-On 600 ft-lb. Torque Wrench Imagine my surprise when this cheap tool clicked in the exact same place as the $800 snap-on. In hindsight, I realized that the torque multiplier applies torque very gradually and evenly, so this isn't a good comparison.
