After seeing a friend's 4 year old kid in one of them in our pool I got curious. I was told that they use it to give swimming lessons to children and teach them how to balance in the water. So I picked it up and ordered it. My daughter (also 4 years old) wore sweaters but they stretched over time. I love how she sits lower on her torso and her arms are free to move and play. It also allows her to dive underwater (on purpose, not accidentally) to get swim rings and explore with her goggles. After receiving this, we haven't used the puddle jumper since. It's a thick foam material and the strap and buckle feel very strong. She loves purple. She finds it easy to fasten the buckle, but she cannot undo it. I think that's good. I would highly recommend them to children who want to learn to swim but who still need peace of mind for their parents.
