Review on SENNHEISER HD 559 Open 🎧 Back Headphone - Black: Enhanced Sound Experience by A Eh Khung ᠌

Not worth the money, I will not advise this product.

I decided to upgrade my headphones, I was looking for open-type monitors for mixing tracks and listening to music. Watched immediately Sennheiser, because. I have been using the HD555 for 10 years already, during this time they were pretty shabby and I wanted new ones with sound quality at least as good. HD559 fit into my current budget for the purchase, I thought, well, I’ll take the replacement HD555, if not a level higher, then at least just an ated version. How wrong I was. Apparently, Sennheiser's engineers had read comments that the bass was not enough in the 550 series models, and decided to unscrew it to the fullest. Heavy music like death or black metal sounds just awful, guitars are a mess, electronics are also buzzing in the bottoms. Most likely, the model is suitable either for listening to podcasts, or for something simple, not stuffed with an abundance of low-frequency instruments. I spent 3 days with the equipment, tested it on the phone, the built-in sound system and the external Focusrite, warmed it with pink noise, it was absolutely useless. I handed it back to the store, absolutely disappointed in buying this model. I do not recommend.

Pros
  • Build quality and material strength Detachable cable
Cons
  • The sound is simply terrible, the bass is raised, the tops and middle are deaf, it is generally impossible to listen to metal, like from a barrel, mixing tracks is also problematic due to distortions in the frequency response. And traditionally a bow that presses on the head, but this is corrected by stretching on the box. No 3.5mm adapter included.
