There are disadvantages, but the product is usable.

Specific ratio of frequencies after the HD280PRO, which swung and lost its LF reserve, but acquired an excess of HF. I had to play around with the Creative equalizer for general settings and with the Roon parametric for high-quality sound in different styles of music.

Pros
  • They sit comfortably on the head, do not press, soft ear cushions. Good sounding high frequencies, wide stage.
Cons
  • Low frequencies without additional EQ adjustment give "hum" and "barrel echo" in some genres.

I definitely recommend buying, I didn't notice any disadvantages.

I've been listening for half a year, Asus Xonar DX 7.1 + Sennheiser HD 559, just fine! The first impression was - oh, and then, when I set it up, wow!

Pros
  • 1. Sound! Before that there were (on the rise, first for the player, then there was a sound card) - mx170, 270, 271, HD201 and HD 559 + PC 3 Chat for online. Everywhere the sound was at its best, 559 was especially pleased, the household members too - open-type headphones, everyone hears what I'm listening to, but I don't hear anyone)) 2. All headphones have a very comfortable fit on the head or in the auricles, even if you are a bespectacled person - the ear pads fit very softly in the head, but it takes some time for the 559 series to take the shape of the head (the 201 series did not have this - immediately sat down perfectly). 3. Hear frequencies that used to be lost!
Cons
  • Unusual sound, like from a barrel. The first time I adjusted it in the equalizer, then I got used to it. I had to order (for only 360- usually they are much more expensive and tough) an adapter on the Zennheiser website, the rest of the adapters did not work well.

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

justify their price, and the fact that the sound insulation is bad is because they are OPEN and not closed, thereby reducing the pressure on the ears Different pros: very deep and pleasant sound, pleasant to wear, EXCELLENT build quality, very reliable With its cons: I thought that there would be an adapter from 6.3 Jack to 3.5 mini Jack

Comfortable and not badly made. But for its price in terms of sound, a bad model. Worst model in the series. A hunchback the size of the Caucasian mountains in the bass and midrange. No highs without EQ. After EQ, you can listen, but there is not enough detail (I understand that the ears cost 6k, but even for this price it's bad).

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not the best quality, but generally not bad.

after the HD280PRO, which swung and lost its LF reserve but gained an excess of HF. Specific ratio of frequencies. For general settings, I had to fiddle with the Creative equalization, and for high-quality sound in various musical genres, I had to fiddle with the Roon parametric.

Pros
  • They rest peacefully on the head, don't push, and have plush ear cushions. Wide stage, well sounding high frequencies.
Cons
  • Without further EQ modification, low frequencies produce "hum" and "barrel echo" in some genres.

I'm amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

It sounds great with my Asus Xonar DX 7.1 and Sennheiser HD 559 headphones, which I've been using for the past six months. The very first thought that came to my mind was, Well, and then when I set it up, wow!

Pros
  • 1. Sound! Before that, there were (on the increase, initially for the player, then there was a sound card) mx170, 270, 271, and HD201 and HD 559, in addition to PC 3 Chat for online use. Because I'm using open-type headphones, everyone in the house can hear what I'm listening to, but I can't hear them. The sound quality was excellent everywhere; resident 559 in particular was pleased, as were the other members of the household. 2. Even if you wear glasses, all headphones have a very comfortable fit on the head or in the auricles - the ear pads fit very softly in the head, but it takes some time for the 559 series to take the shape of the head. 2. All headphones have a very comfortable fit on the head or in the auricles (the 201 series did not have this - immediately sat down perfectly). 3. Hear frequencies that were previously unavailable!
Cons
  • Strange sound, almost as if it were coming from a barrel. After making some initial adjustments in the equalization, I eventually became accustomed to the sound. On the Zennheiser website, I was required to place an order for an adapter (which cost only 360; normally, they are much more expensive and difficult to acquire), as the other adapters did not function properly.

Im amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

A small comment, I put one star for soundproofing, because. this item is inappropriate for full-size open-type headphones.

Pros
  • Very comfortable headphones, I have a fairly large head, where they do not press or press. Open type are very good for games due to the width of the stage. I use it through a sound card so the sound is just great.
Cons
  • no.

I like everything, the quality is good and the price is reasonable.

I use them in conjunction with the sound creative AE-9 and edifier s760d speakers. For such a price, more than adequate in terms of price-quality. Several times it happened that I forgot about them when they were on my head and a terrible situation happened, my ears were torn off my head. I thought I broke them, but no. Wire length 3m Different pros: 1) The build quality has not changed a bit in 5 years. 2) Convenient use does not press anything anywhere. 3) The sound can be recorded both to +…

I'm very happy with the product, it's very satisfying.

A huge plus of these headphones is a detachable cable. As a rule, with headphones, it fails before the headphones, which is why they had to be thrown away. Here it will be enough to buy a new cable (~ 500). Got pros: Great sound, deep and rich bass. Soft ear cushions in which the head and ears do not sweat (although this material collects dust a lot, but this is a trifle). With its cons. 1. The kit did not include an adapter for a 6.3 mm to 3.5 mm jack plug 2. Very tight headband. If the head…

Everything about the product satisfied me, the price is perfect.

+++++ As comfortable as your house slippers. The ear is completely placed in the sink, nothing presses, does not press, the ears do not heat up, you can safely wear it for 8 hours a day, light, inconspicuous, it is even more comfortable in them than without them. Seriously, the most comfortable headphones. (The first time, until they spread, they can squeeze the head quite strongly). ++++ Reliable, after dozens of flights, nothing loosened from the table, does not crack, does not ring, there…

Pros
  • Comfortable. Quality sound. High strength. Adequate price. Nice materials ear pads, nice plastic.
Cons
  • Not very comfortable cable, with a certain inclination of the head rests on the collarbone. "Poor" package.

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are a few bugs, basically the norm.

Those who give 4-5 stars to these headphones are either deaf or take them for all sorts of tasteless ear bombing. For music - they are not suitable, for voice equalization - even more so. Gentlemen, there is + 6 dB of bass, what are you, ay. I bought it based on the reviews here, I already realized that amateurs are praising them. Bass just ruins everything, rumble, barrel, it's impossible to listen to anything in them. Just equal in frequency response, this is their older version of the HD…

Pros
  • purged Very comfortable
Cons
  • barrel sound

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Its not a good product, its a pity that I spent money on it.

I bought a replacement hd 555 without really studying the reviews and expecting to get a product equivalent to hd 555. This was a mistake. The sound is much worse. The mids are greatly underestimated, because the sound is like from a barrel. In the control panel of the sound card, I picked up the equalizer settings for more or less normal sound, but I always used hd 555 without an equalizer and everything was ok. Strong pressure on the head. But this is fixable in principle - you can leave them

Pros
  • The assembly seems to be quite good, but so far I have not used it much. Let's look further.
Cons
  • Sound like from a barrel. Rigid bow.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a bad product, quite normal quality.

Took a year ago (September 26, 2022) to replace the Sennheiser HD 558 for 5879. The sound quality is slightly worse or just different. In 558, the sound was somehow softer and a little deeper, but here it is sharper or something. Otherwise, visually, the materials are all in good condition, the ear cushions have not changed their shape and appearance, the sound has not deteriorated.

Pros
  • They sit nice. Normal sound quality.
Cons
  • There is a feeling that the foam rubber on the headband will not survive for a long time and will come off on its own, although a year has passed and it is still in the same condition.

A nice option for the money, one of the best deals.

I have "four" / three headphones (Sennheiser HD 559, Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO (250 Ohm), Beyerdynamic DT 880 PRO (250 Ohm), Superlux HD-330). The speaker on the Beyerdynamic DT 880 PRO (250 Ohm) broke down, the repair price is above 8000 + 2 trips to Hong Kong. As a result, they presented Sennheiser HD 559. I listened. Postpone repair of DT 880. As a result, the Beyerdynamic DT 880 PRO (250 Ohm) has been lying without repair for the second year). I am attaching a measurement chart. Blue…

Pros
  • Sound and frequency response in "my style", comfortable fit, cable on the left.
Cons
  • The douche is plastic. Painted plastic that quickly peels off at the points of contact with hard surfaces, but I listen to them, not admire them)

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not worth the money, I will not advise this product.

I decided to upgrade my headphones, I was looking for open-type monitors for mixing tracks and listening to music. Watched immediately Sennheiser, because. I have been using the HD555 for 10 years already, during this time they were pretty shabby and I wanted new ones with sound quality at least as good. HD559 fit into my current budget for the purchase, I thought, well, I’ll take the replacement HD555, if not a level higher, then at least just an ated version. How wrong I was. Apparently…

Pros
  • Build quality and material strength Detachable cable
Cons
  • The sound is simply terrible, the bass is raised, the tops and middle are deaf, it is generally impossible to listen to metal, like from a barrel, mixing tracks is also problematic due to distortions in the frequency response. And traditionally a bow that presses on the head, but this is corrected by stretching on the box. No 3.5mm adapter included.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a bad buy, well worth the money.

If you have always walked around with inexpensive ear plugs or bluetooth headphones for 5-10 thousand, then the sound quality in these headphones will be like heaven and earth compared to them. Objectively too much bass. Another complaint is not specifically about these headphones, but about adapters for jack3.5, which begin to play and bend after a month.

Pros
  • Comfortable on the head, sound
Cons
  • Sound, quality of adapters to jack3.5

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Average quality, not a great product.

If you need normal, comfortable headphones for playing games, listening to music on FB, spotify, without flasks, take them, they will be clearly better than "gaming whistles", you can attach a microphone, for example V-moda, it seems that's what it's called. If you want to listen to flak, plan to play around with various DACs and amplifiers, then it’s better to listen to others, but it’s best to throw in a few thousand and take already good initial headphones with high-quality sound, at least…

Pros
  • Very comfortable, you can listen to music in the background, play for half a day, there is no discomfort until the ear pads and soft top are worn out, then problems appear with the clamp, more or less universal
Cons
  • The sound is not bad, you can not use the DACs, amplifiers, listen from any hole, it sounds normal. But to be honest, “normal” for this price is bad, there are headphones for this price that sound better, but it’s not a fact that they are just as comfortable, everything needs to be measured and listened to.

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not particularly happy with it, but it's mostly okay.

The sound, to put it mildly, was not impressive. I took to replace Koss Porta Pro, for games and movies. They cope with these tasks, and are definitely higher in quality than Koss, but I was waiting for the width of the stage, and the detail of the sound. Neither one nor the other is not in the expected quantity. The tops and middle are suppressed by the bass, which is clearly too much. There are few scenes, there are no normal tops either, but at the same time they break into sibblants…

Pros
  • - Convenient design - Detachable cable - Sounds good for the money
Cons
  • - Plastic everywhere - Long wire with a thick jack - The sound is overloaded with bass - Too much pressure - The material of the ear pads is not tactilely comfortable

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Pleasant but poor bass response

I have used a Sennheiser HD 580 with a Yamaha digital piano (P80) for decades, an absolutely amazing combination. I just tried the HD 559, thinking that any open-back headphones from Sennheiser would probably be great. No! The bass half of my piano sounds like it's packed in cotton wool - not at all like any acoustic or digital piano I've ever played. Maybe they could make the music sound good for some people. But as far as bass fidelity goes, they're really, really bad. My Apple headphones…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Some cons

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great sounding headphones with an annoying flaw.

These headphones meet most of my needs but one important one. At $99, not having a 3.5mm adapter is just a dumb cost-cutting move. I know you could turn it on. I've bought a lot of $99 headphones that came with an adapter. I can actually use these headphones with the $7 adapter I bought. Can I still recommend these headphones? Yes, just note that you will need a 6.3mm to 3.5mm adapter (standard headphone jack) to be able to use these if you don't have audio hardware like me. The sound and…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Big and chunky
