The carafe somehow remained intact after 3 uses on the bottom. The seller replaced me. After using it a few times I got the hang of the foam/steam wand. If you need to make more than 2 cups of coffee, unless you're going to wait a while for it to cool between cups, consider investing in something with a larger capacity. I would buy again if needed! About 2 minutes to heat, 2 minutes to steam, 2 minutes to simmer. It takes me about 10-12 minutes from start to finish to make a latte, including prep and cleanup time.
