Phenomenal CPU, beats the Intel 9900k for most tasks (about the same price). Intel has a slightly higher base clock so it has a slight advantage on single-core benchmarks, although this 3900x has plenty of overclocking headroom and outperforms Intel on single-core tasks at the same clock speed. The extra cores and threads on this CPU set it apart from the rest for real-world benchmarks and multi-core benchmarks. Great processor for streaming, gaming, video editing/rendering and everything else. The only reason not to buy it is if you are waiting for the 3950x in September which has 2 more cores and 4 threads for $250. I highly recommend this processor and also suggest pairing it with one of the new x570 motherboards - I have an ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero and love it. Update: Wiring is of course important. The CPU cooler that comes with this CPU is solid and hasn't had any issues so far.
