A worthy successor to the iMac screen

After 7 years of active use with a 27" iMac, I decided it was time to upgrade the M1. Instead of buying one of the new M1 iMacs, I decided to get a MacBook Air and an LG monitor with a floating stand to free up space. valuable desk space. Apple displays really are the gold standard and if you look closely at the screen it's impossible to see pixels (especially around small text). I was concerned that that LG's 4K display would be a significant downgrade from the iMac's 5K display. Thankfully, that's not the case. Unlike Apple displays, if you look very, very closely on LG, you'll see an extremely fine pixel grid, but a medium one Distance there is no noticeable difference Apps from spreadsheets to photo editors, the very good news is that LG is pretty darn close Text is crisp and color accuracy (with both the Retina iPad Pro and MacBook Air) is pretty good. LG alongside the 27-inch iMac, showing similar screens side-by-side. This is the sharpest subjective comparison you can make. In my opinion (and I'm picky about these things) the LG looks pretty good in terms of sharpness, color accuracy and brightness. If, like me, you're thinking about upgrading from an iMac to a MacBook with an external monitor, LG has a very good option.
