2. Charm. Love it!

This is what I need, at least for my 2003 Toyota Matrix (see my review of another model of portable GPS mount). The clips open wide enough to slide over the wide slats of my car's air vent. The fit is very tight with no vibration or movement even when riding on bumpy roads. It's really an alternative to the GPS mounts that are mounted on the dashboard. It may take a little experimentation to find a portable GPS air mount mount, but at just a few bucks it's worth it. Once you've found one that fits your car, this is really the only way to buy a portable GPS. I have the best since the built-in navigation system. In fact, I just ordered another one for my other car. Just perfect! Review update: It obviously has a downside, at least if you live in colder climates. I figured it would be handy to keep the mount attached to the air vent all winter. Then I would only have to click on the GPS module when needed. Didn't use the GPS and set it up over the winter months until recently trying it out in early March. Under the weight of the GPS navigator, the mount immediately flew away. Upon inspection of the clips on the bracket, there was no more tension in them, leaving them open (imagine a spring clothespin with a broken spring. I conclude that during the long winter, when the bracket was exposed to the car heater daily (I drive 2 hours a day), the heat has loosened the plastic clips so much they no longer stick to the vents, so the obvious answer is if you live in a cold climate where you use the heater regularly, remove not only the GPS device but also the mount and clips when not in use.
