I bought this primarily to sift the whey out of my homemade yogurt to make it thicker. Many yogurt strainers cost $20 or more, but I bought a set of 2 for about $13 so thought it might be worth a try. I love it! I've only used it once but it's very easy to use and clean and seems to last a long time. I love that I can close the lid to prevent dust or other objects from getting into my yogurt while it's standing. I was able to strain about 3/4 quart of whey from almost 1/2 gallon of yogurt. Now I can use whey differently and also enjoy thicker yoghurt. Won, won! I also plan to use it to squeeze moisture out of my steamed cauliflower. I find it useful in other things as well, like making elderberry syrup or anything where I need a really good strain.
