Update: Display died after 4 months

Update: After about four months of mostly sporadic operation of the base station, the display of the radio receiver died. It is completely white, rendering the radio unusable. I have contacted the seller for a replacement or refund. First review: I used it as my 2m shack setup almost daily, spending hours burning it up. As long as it works well. I can easily connect repeaters 30 miles or more apart and easily run a simplex network 30 miles in the other direction. Programming by hand isn't that hard, but the RT software and cable cost the extra money. I'm getting good signal reports and so far I've had no problems with the radio when using it with a 5/8 wave tram roof antenna. It will eventually go to either the house or Subaru as a backup base unit. It seems a lot more reliable than some of the other imported mobile rigs that sell for around $50.
