Eureka! This HDMI to component converter works for Roku!

Our TV in the guest room is a 2010 version with audio inputs up to HDMI and video inputs up to 720p (DVI or component inputs). Has and still makes a great picture! Previously, this TV was connected to a cable TV set-top box. through the component cables. Never had a problem. We just got rid of the cable and moved to Roku in the house (including a live TV subscription to access the channels). Long story short, I needed to output video and audio from Roku Express. (with HDMI input) to the TV and bought a converter/extractor to convert it to the TV's DVI input (for some reason I wanted DVI to be the "preferred input"!). The result was: The HDMI to DVI cable could not pass the video signal from the extractor to the TV's DVI input. After trying everything, I sent the extractor back (and DVI/HDMI cable) and then went in search of other converters. I discovered this Portta HDMI to Component Converter and bought it and hooked it up to my TV's Component 2 input. There is a picture but NO sound (at least I have a picture this time!). After playing around with a few settings etc, still no luck! FINALLY last night, after some fiddling, I routed the component cables to the "Component 1" setting on the TV. It worked! Picture and sound! Who would have thought that other component settings would not be suitable! So we are ready. This portta converter did the trick - ROKU Express Component TV inputs - still great picture and sound!
