Review on 🧴 Sculpey Soft Liquid Clay Softener by Sasha Hsiao

I purchased this material after realizing that the whole pile of clay I bought at my local craft store was out of date. Crumbly. Difficult to air condition. Difficult to fold by hand. I didn't feel like changing all the bars so I bought these. I figured it would be easy to fix. No! I can not stand. I've tried adding different amounts to the different clays I've bought, always starting with 1-2 drops per about 2 ounces of clay. I would add drop by drop and then try to condition the clay. It seemed to me that this stuff of no real value ended up making the clay "sticky" in the drop. Seriously 3 drops (on some clay)? Nothing. 4 drops (on the same tone)? Goopy, big mess. This stuff didn't improve my experience at all. For me, working with this material was just as uncomfortable as working with old clay. I tossed it in my clay box in case I ever feel like I'm missing the frustration in my life and just want to drive myself against the wall. (Why do we keep supplies like this? Things we know don't work but can't throw away. Even though we know we'll never use them again. So bad!) Maybe I'll bring that back. when my three teenagers grow up and go alone. just in case i need a reminder of what it's like to live with three teenagers. Haha, seriously, I'd rather scatter all the clay than try Sculpey Liquid Clay Softener again. However, I've had good luck with TLS (Translucent Liquid Sculpey) which softened the old tone. I know that TLS can mitigate some of the old bars I have - much better than SLCS. (To be clear, the clay bars aren't all crumbly, but they all crumble around the edges when I try to mount them. These bars are also very hard and more likely to break than bend.) I expected this material I would like. I'm forced to lower my rating because it's just not good. I will not buy it again.
