Pedals and cleats at a great price

I bought my new mountain bike from a bike shop and expensive bikes don't usually come with pedals. A bike shop clerk tried to sell me metal pedals for $70 because he said plastic pedals wouldn't stand up to cross-country riding. I decided to skip the metal pedals and tried these Revain plastic pedals. They have protruding metal spikes/screws that help hold the feet in place. The price intrigued me. I also liked the color options. I bought "green" pedals to match my bike. The color on the Revain page seemed to match my bike's shade of green exactly. As you can see in my picture these pedals are yellow rather than green. It's not quite what I was hoping for, but I'm ok with that because the color of my bike is somewhere between green and yellow. It is difficult to reproduce colors on a phone due to the natural variations of the screen. These plastic pedals feel solid, heavy and well made. I took the bike for a few rides on the trail and scraped the pedals on some rocks and roots (it's a very steep trail and I have to admit I'm not the best rider). You have held up well. The grip is good, although once my left leg came loose and I broke my shin with the pedal. I recommend you wear some sort of shin guard as the metal tips will bleed. But that's my fault. The spikes did what you would expect spikes to do. Even though the pedals don't last as long as the metal ones, the price is so good that I can swap them out twice and still come out on top. I am very happy with this purchase. If you read this review in the future and want to know how they hold up, send me a message or leave a comment. i will answer if i can.
