does the job. semi-rigid body.

This gets the job done and is a great way to make changing drives a little easier. This isn't the most durable clear plastic case out there. I usually need a case to use when I take my drives out of my laptop. This is a great way to get data from it or use it as a simple hard drive. One thing I noticed is that the USB port is a USB 3.0 Micro USB. It's a bit older and not as good as Type C, but it still gets the job done. The USB cable is an average length compared to most cables and is of fairly good quality. I have a Micro USB 3.0 to Type-C cable to try this and it works with no issues. Installation does not require a screwdriver or screws. You will need to remove the plastic cover to pry out the bracket. It doesn't take too much force to remove the plastic cover, but I recommend pressing on the sides rather than the center as you can crack the plastic over time if you press too hard. This causes the lid you remove to be a bit thin in the middle. It doesn't take much effort to open, but it closes securely. Once you've removed it, simply pop the drive into the slot. Unlike other cases, you can insert it straight and not at an upward angle. Once installed, the case is quite solid, but I don't recommend putting it on anything heavy as the plastic can crack. Don't force the case to close either. It requires a little pressure, but you can break it if the top isn't properly seated. The case fits snugly, but it's plastic so you'll feel warm. It heats up when you use the drive, but nothing at unsafe levels. During longer operation you can feel the heat of the drive. The case is not shockproof, so don't drop it. The fact is that it is plastic, the case can simply crack or break if dropped. It's not scratch-resistant, so expect scratches on the case when you put it in your pocket. As far as transfer speeds go, you get pretty decent transfer speeds, but you may be limited by the drive itself or the case. Overall I am happy with this case. It's lightweight and easy to install, but you sacrifice durability. It requires fewer tools and is therefore easy to replace. The USB cable is well made and durable. I had no problem connecting any of my SATA drives. The transfer speed is pretty good, but again it all depends on the disc you put in.
