Review on High-performance Hygger Titanium Aquarium Heater: Fast Heating & Digital Temp Control for 60-180 Gallon Freshwater Marine Tanks by Lisa Ramirez

This beast is the best aquarium heater

I don't write many reviews unless I'm really impressed (or disappointed) so here it is after extensive research and final decision on which heater to buy I firmly believe this is the ONLY heater you will ever need. I installed two of these to heat my 280g mixed reef tank. With over $10,000 worth of fish and coral, I won't skimp on a heater! And it's the best you can get. Firstly, the heating element is made of conductive ceramic - the heating element cannot break, warp, crack or anything else. There are no spools of wires and insulation and all that. The heater housing IS a heater; nothing to break. The heater temperature is proportional to the current temperature and the temperature setting difference. When the setting is much higher it puts out 500 watts, which is almost enough to create a local boil (keep the plants away). But when the temperature difference becomes smaller, the performance decreases proportionally. So you get both fast heat-up for things like water changes and low power consumption for a stable temperature. In addition, it is easy to program. Just one button. The huge backlit LCD display shows the settings and the current power mode. And more importantly, it remembers your settings. That way, in the event of a power outage, or like mine when connected to a separate temperature controller, it will retain your settings in memory until power returns. The only thing I can't judge at the moment is the lifespan. I suspect that with the ceramic design this heater will last for many years (if not decades). It's definitely worth my time to rate it and write this recommendation. I am very happy with it.

Pros

Cons
  • It's ok
