I wanted to install new pickups on my electric guitars which required rewiring and soldering small wires to small components. I bought it to hold small parts while I solder the connections. I honestly didn't expect to use it as much as I used to. This thing holds AMAZING small components while you solder them. It was a lifesaver and I couldn't have soldered every joint without it. The fact that the adjustable arms are held onto the metal plate with magnets is amazing because you can move them where you want.
