Review on Standard Motor Products FPS4 Injection by Aaron Carney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Dear essential article!

This is an important detail and manufacturers know it. You also know that it will eventually fail if the diaphragm ruptures and fuel squirts into the intake manifold. When this happens the car is very difficult to start and even if it does start it will idle and you will also get the engine codes/light DTC P0172. Code P0172 means that excessive gasoline has been detected in the exhaust gases exiting the combustion chamber. The vehicle's ECU uses a number of tools such as: B. a mass air flow (MAF) sensor, oxygen sensors and an intake manifold absolute pressure sensor. (MAP) to control the air-fuel ratio in the engine. Before proceeding with the diagnostic replacement of all of these parts, simply remove the throttle body assembly and inspect the area underneath to see if there is any gas buildup. If you are seeing fuel by turning on a light in the intake manifold, that FPS4 fuel injection pressure sensor is the culprit as the diaphragm has ruptured and thus fuel has entered the intake manifold. This genuine Motorcraft part failed on my old 2001 Ford Focus after almost 21 years of service. Which I think is appropriate given what he does. By the way, it's hard to find if you want a Motorcraft OEM. This is the *only* aftermarket part found online and is *not* available at all from local Ford parts dealers and other trusted online parts stores. Because it's such an important part, just before the fuel line reaches the injectors, and the car won't run without it, Standard Motor Products knows the price and appears to be making a profit. In any case, thanks for reading. My review. I hope you found it useful. Carefully rate the product with five stars! If something changes in the next few months and I see the same issue, I'll revise my review.
