Review on πŸ”† NOMA 48-Inch Ceiling Fan with Light - Bleach Maple Blades and Frosted Glass Shade: Stylish and Functional Cooling Solution by Christopher Meyer

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Installing or connecting separate switches for fans and lights is not possible.

Highlights:1. It does not have a separate cable to control the fan and lights (to control separate wall switches).2. Flush mounting does not seem to be a [safe] option3. Instructions suuuuuckkk!4. Fashionable and affordable. Pretty once installed. For the guest room, I calculated a hundred dollars for a fancy fan. Where could I have gone wrong! However, I have decided to wait a day after installation before writing a review so that my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from the installation doesn't reflect as much in my review. Our guest room is connected to a separate light and fan. Very annoying was that there is only one hot wire for the fan and light combo. I don't need a remote fan because it's hard to install and doesn't take long to remote or restore. Therefore, I was annoyed that it was not possible to connect a wall-mounted fan controller. Instructions: I'm pretty sure this company stole some generic fan installation instructions off the internet and figured that would be enough. Finally, they start at step 2.2 (and the pages are numbered and none are skipped). This isn't my first rodeo on installing a ceiling fan, so other reviews of the instructions didn't really bother me. But I definitely corrected my misconceptions about my abilities as I stared at the fragile pieces of bent metal that the instructions say are to hold a fan that will fly at 30 miles an hour over my guests' heads, while they sleep. My guest room only has 8 foot ceilings, so the surface mount capability is one of the main reasons I chose this fan. However, the direct ceiling mount instructions call for the canopy to be screwed directly to the motor coupler, but there are no holes on the canopy to attach it to the motor. And that would mean the weight of the fan would be supported by a brittle piece of metal and a wire connection. No thank you! Once I decided to hang with the bottom bar, the installation was pretty easy. I skipped the step to disassemble the bottom bar as it's a wasted step leaving only more room for the wires to pull in. Just thread the wires (and that useless "dangling wire") through the bottom bar and avoid the extra step. See my photo for proper assembly of the blades. You need to make sure the short side of the blade lines up with the edge of the mount. (I did this step 2.5 times before I figured it out.). The installation of the lamp cost me the last patience because there was not enough space for the wiring. But in the end, after a few shots, a prayer, and a bit of bent metal, it worked. All in all it looks cute and trendy and if you have time to find out you won't mind controlling the light and fan with a single switch and having a built in fan is totally optional I guess , that will work great for your needs. . And that's a lot compared to similar fans.
