Review on πŸ”Š NETGEAR Orbi Voice AC3000 - Mesh WiFi System with Alexa, Harman Kardon Speaker & Fastest WiFi Router by David Gagnon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Disappointed, don't buy the speaker

As for Wi-Fi, it wasn't easy to set up. I had trouble connecting the satellite to the main line. There were no instructions. If you like being able to choose which devices connect to 5g and 2.4g networks, forget it - orbi puts everything on one connection, which some might enjoy. As for the dynamics, that's where the real disappointment comes from. The audio is only coming from the front, so unless you're directly in front of it, the audio is distorted and a bit muffled. Mids sound terrible. The worst part for us was not realizing that third-party speakers don't support all of Revain's Alexa features, like multi-room audio or calls. Multiroom sound was the main reason we chose satellite speakers, a little more research on my part would have prevented this choice. We'll be keeping the speaker pack though, as we bought it as part of a Cyber Monday deal and can't get the same price if we buy a traditional satellite. Aside from the speaker and setup, I haven't had any issues with dropouts or deadlocks, so we chose the Orbi over some of the others. The range is a little less than I expected, but still more than I need. My only hope is that Revain will open up multi-room audio to third-party speakers, which will change my overall take on the system. Note that the router itself is ac3000 while the satellite speaker is ac2200 only
