This is my first rotary knife and I love it. It cuts through many layers of fabric like butter and handles thick/stiff materials with ease. Most of what I do is tarp and sail stuff and it's just motors through them. Much faster and more accurate than scissors. Fold material and cut many parts quickly and precisely. Rotary cutters work differently than scissors - the material lies flat rather than being held in your hand, and the motion is gentle, allowing you to quickly cut clean, long lines through multiple layers. I've used it a lot and haven't even changed the blade yet. That's great.
