Great monitor. Great colors though.

I'm only giving it four stars because of one shortcoming. It can't be standard on all these S2740Ls because I haven't seen anyone complain about it, so I guess I just have a bad panel. It looks like there is a problem with the left half of the screen. There's a huge area that looks like it's been lightly burned. You can't even tell if you're playing or watching a movie, but when you have a completely white background it's very noticeable. It's like there's a constant shadow falling on the monitor, starting from the center of the screen and going to the left all the way to the edge, where the dimming stops. You can see this if you have an all white screen or lighter colors like light blue or light gray. Very very uncomfortable to look at. In the end I had to choose a replacement. I hope the next one I get won't have this problem. As for the flowers. Wow! This monitor can display color like no other I've had. I wouldn't call it perfect, but it's damn close. I used the Spyder Pro color calibration tool with the hardware to ensure my monitor was calibrated correctly and making a difference. Too bad this shadow problem is so pronounced with light colors. So. Still a great monitor, which is why I give it 4 stars. I would recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a monitor with fantastic colors and a glossy screen. In brighter rooms, a glossy screen can be distracting, so be careful. This monitor was designed for darker rooms. Make sure you keep him away from reflections or you will have a terrible time with him. Still a great monitor. All I can say is if you don't have a problem with shading then this is the keeper!
