I decided and bought because of the very high humidity in our house. My house is over 100 years old, and so are the windows. The humidity in the basement between the outside temperature and our washer, dryer and fridges was actually causing mold on our underlying wooden floor! We had another, more expensive one, and it didn't work as well as this one. You definitely felt the humidity difference in the house in the basement. I would love to buy at least one more and end up being good! Great price for a product!
