This USB 3.0 Gen 1 Type-C Hard Drive Docking Station is compact compared to similar docking stations I've used and has a decent transfer speed that depends on the quality of the used cable may depend. (I explain that below). Transfer Speed: Tested with 1TB WD Blue SSD - 412Mbps write and 428Mbps read. I bought separately. I would suggest getting a good quality "USB-IF Certified" and at least 10Gbps Gen 2 if you need more length. I used a longer, cheaper USB Type-C cable and my transfer rate dropped to 38 Mbps writing and 42 Mbps reading. Then I bought a 3ft USB-IF certified 10Gbps Gen 2 cable and everything was fine. I use software to clone my drives. Overall I would recommend this dock.
