I have the same model, decades old, made in the Philippines. The old block has been repaired many times, so I bought a new block. Comparison: Receive: Alt 8-New 6 Transmit: Alt 9+ New 8-- Both are SWR matched and use the same Wilson antennas. I will service the old device again and this will be used as a backup. I think my Cobra 29BT could do better overall too. They are used in dump trucks that are exposed to dust and strong vibrations. Most radios last 24 to 28 months before needing to be replaced or serviced.
