This is a CB, for stationary CB radios

This is a CB, works well, installation is cheaper than a few years ago, but on the road I mostly hear, noise limiter blocks ignition noise well.

You get what you pay for!

The price was reasonable but you get what you pay for. quality is bad. Lots of noise and sometimes difficult to get reception. I would send it back, but it's too late for that.

Not a bad radio if you want to save a few bucks

Not the most powerful radio on the market and a bit smaller than the standard Cobra and what I have in my truck. Mostly good radio

Quality and Reliability

Known for manufacturing quality equipment, Uniden has been in the CB industry for many years. With every electronic product you buy from Uniden, you can count on it for performance, durability and reliability. My Uniden gear still works after many years. True value for money. I'm happy.

Outstanding radio, the best of fixed CB radios

Daring and satisfied. Driven 2,000 miles, talked to truckers, avoided speed traps. Queued up with some trucks, drove 500 miles and made the trip so much fun. Excellent radio paired with a Wilson 1000 antenna. Excellent transmission and reception. Add a small amp and viola. There was also talk of moving from Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the South Carolina foothills. barefoot

  • CB and radios
Cons

OK, but not perfect.

I have the same model, decades old, made in the Philippines. The old block has been repaired many times, so I bought a new block. Comparison: Receive: Alt 8-New 6 Transmit: Alt 9+ New 8-- Both are SWR matched and use the same Wilson antennas. I will service the old device again and this will be used as a backup. I think my Cobra 29BT could do better overall too. They are used in dump trucks that are exposed to dust and strong vibrations. Most radios last 24 to 28 months before needing to be…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Good but big plus for fixed CB radio

Good radio for the price It's big and I wouldn't recommend putting it in a regular car. But works great in a full size truck or maybe a van with lots of under dash or overhead space. It is difficult to say anything about the quality of the radio, since a lot depends on the quality of the antenna and the settings. But it seems to be working fine. If given a chance to do this again, I would opt for a smaller radio that scans all channels rather than locking one channel at a time. This was…

CB Radios & Scanners Jury

I installed this radio in my vehicle. I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of videos and this turned out to be a good option. I installed the block. I bought and installed an expensive "tunable" antenna. I've adjusted the setup per the expert's instructions, but I'm still only getting reception for about 1/4 mile in open terrain and only 50-60 yards in woods. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. Over the weekend I was dating a guy who had a cheap device with an expensive microphone…
