I make paper mache with my students and I usually use flour and water. Another teacher recommended this to me for its durability when mixing. Pros: You can mix this in bulk and it won't go bad, it's virtually odorless, it's easy to clean and won't clog your sink. Cons: It's not as strong as traditional flour and water, it's given some of my students rashes on their hands, and it's a more expensive option if you're stretching the dollar in class. *Tip: When doing this, be sure to slowly pour the powder into the water as it can get quite clumpy.
