With almost 6000 ratings and an overall rating of over 4 stars, I was immediately convinced. The knife felt good and heavy and appeared to be well made. I was happy to use this for Thanksgiving as we had a whole turkey, rib roast and honey baked ham. Unfortunately I never had a chance to use it... I let my mother use this knife to cut the ham. If you've ever bought a Honey Baked, you know that it's already partially sliced to allow the ham to stick together. The rest is pretty easy to cut, but I noticed my mom was pushing and sawing hard instead of slicing the ham. I tried slicing the turkey with a knife and aside from being able to chop off larger chunks, trying to thinly slice something was out of the question. Unfortunately, it turned out that my knife arrived unground and so blunt that it was unusable. I understand knives need to be sharpened and sharpened, but I expect a knife to be sharp when you first use it. I gave up on this knife completely as it couldn't cut even the most tender meat. I have read other reviews and it seems there is something wrong with this knife. Several others have reported receiving a dull knife, so check your knife before using it. I plan on calling the manufacturer to express my dissatisfaction as there is a card in the box saying they will replace any defective knives. I will give them another chance but if the replacement is made the same way I will request a full refund.
