Review on CUT-50 DC Inverter Plasma Cutter: Dual Voltage Metal Cutting Machine, Compact Design - Display4top by Joshua Mejia

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Surprisingly good value for the money.

Disclaimer: This is the opinion of a newbie with no experience with a plasma cutter. Pros: I've been using it for 4 months now, everything works fine. I've only used it on 110v and set it to about 30 amps. It cuts through 1/8" and 3/16" steel like hot butter at these settings, and I've even used it to cut through 1/4" sheet metal. It doesn't have a problem with aluminum either. Comes with it Lots of air hoses included and the 220v to 110v adapter is very handy The unit seems to be quite well made it feels solid Overall I found it as someone who has never used it before extremely easy to use as did my fiancé Cuts feel very even and straight and there is usually very little need to clean up the pieces afterwards Cons: From day one the unit worked as the capacitor whines which is a bit noticeable. The torch handle feels very cheap although it holds up surprisingly well. Photos of her online show the moisture trap is mounted on the back of the unit but there are no attachment points for the holders on the back of the device. I had to loosen one of the case screws and use it to hold the bracket in place. Conclusion: I was hesitant to buy this plasma cutter, after all you get what you pay for, but it was worth it. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and would definitely recommend this unit.
