Review on DICKIE TOYS Super Construction Crane by Robert Grimm

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty neat but needs some work

Just bought this for my girlfriend's 4 little boys. t disperse, and this is the lower base. The remote control has 2 levers: turn the tap left or right. Please note that you can rotate the faucet more than 360 degrees to tangle the cord as everything is fixed, so be careful. To do this, they need a hold so that you cannot pass a certain point in either direction. You can move the main hook girl back and forth. Attempting to move further in any direction will produce a lot of clicking sounds. You also need a stop so he doesn't. Then there are 2 knobs and this is where a real improvement is needed as the cord gets tangled! 1 button lowers the hook, but if you continue after it's fully lowered, the motor will keep running and then actually start rewinding the rope in the opposite direction. The other knob is for lifting the rope, but if you continue after it's all the way up it will keep twisting and tangling the rope. So when you try to lower the rope, you have to pull on it to take out the slack. The motor really needs a locking mechanism to stop the motor when it's all the way down and all the way up so you don't have these problems. There is no on/off switch on the remote control, so the power is always on, so you could accidentally press any of the levers or buttons. You can open the counterweight section and add something for extra balance. Pretty decent crane and kids will love it when it lifts their cars and other things but be aware that heavy objects will likely cause it to tip over.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
